Fancy Dress Fun Run

Third year class, Naomh Eithne showed extraordinary initiative by raising an overwhelming €2,351.00 for the Children’s Ward in our local hospital, as part of their C.S.P.E. Action Project. The class of thirty organised a sponsored 5km fun run in Powerstown Park on the 24th October last. Ms Murphy and Mr Kett accompanied them and also participated in the successful fun run. We presented the cheque to the staff of the Children’s Ward, who were exceptionally grateful to the girls for their efforts. The money will go towards investing in a ‘pod’ to transport critically ill babies safely from South Tipp General Hospital to Crumlin or Temple Street hospitals, for example.

Naomh Eithne captured the essence of the Loreto motto, ‘love, laughter and learning’ as they combined their enthusiasm and talents to benefit their local community. Emma Matassa summed up the experience by saying, “we achieved a lot. Everyone did a little bit and it amounted to a lot”. The girls felt a great sense of satisfaction and should feel enormously proud. Congratulations to all those involved. frontschool-NEW
