Loreto ended the half on a high note although St. Flannan’s were in the lead at half time by 3 points with a score line of 2-7 to 2-4.
The girls were feeling optimistic at half time and received an inspirational speech from their mentors, which gave them much needed encouragement for the second half. Loreto’s back line with very impressive denying St. Flannan’s any opportunity to get back into the game. Excellent defensive performances from Maeve Ryan and Shania Dowling created the platform for the forwards to drive on and increase their lead even further. Unfortunately Loreto suffered a minor setback with St. Flannan’s scoring a well-worked counter- attacking goal. Loreto kept their heads held high and some inspirational performances came from the half forwards, Evrena Everard and Anna Carey.
