Market Day 2017

Our annual “Market Day” was held on Tuesday 5th December from 2pm-4pm in the school gym. It is always a highlight of the year for the Business Department. It was the final event of Enterprise Week in the school.

This year, Market Day, was organised by the 5th year LCVP class as part of their Enterprise Action Plan. They did a super job and full credit to them for making it such a wonderful event with such an amazing buzz & atmosphere throughout the event.

It was our biggest Market Day ever with all Transition Years taking part and the majority of second years involved also.

There was a very high standard in the quality of the products on sale. In addition, the stands themselves were brilliantly decorated and were really enticing for the many eager to spend customers!!

The judges had a very difficult job in deciding who should go through to the county final of the “Student Enterprise Awards” to be held in Thurles in March. In the end, they chose “Hug in a Mug” (Orla, Lauren, Ellen, Roma, Brigita) from the Transition Year Class Naomh Daragh to represent Loreto in the Senior category; while “Leah’s pure Irish honey” (L), “Picture This” (Triona, Gillian, Eimear, Aislinn), “Snug in a Mug” (Doireann, Emma, Ria, Emily, Caitriona) and “Mini Canvases” (Eimear O’, Mikela, Ance) will represent our school in the Junior category at the County Final.

The 5th year LCVP class also organised some prizes of their own for Best Display, Best Salesperson & Best Teamwork and gave selection boxes in recognition of these categories.
