Raising the Green Flag!

The Green Schools Committee raised the second green flag in December, followed by a party to celebrate. Norah Sullivan, a past student of Loreto and a very active member of the Green Schools Committee returned to celebrate with us. The committee has been very busy this year as we begin work on our third flag for water conservation. In the New Year we will carry out a survey among parents and the wider school community on attitudes to water conservation. We will monitor water usage in the school and try to reduce consumption. The committee continues to maintain the first flag for litter and waste by monitoring the litter in the school, encouraging recycling and the use of the food bin, and the second flag for energy conservation by turning off lights and computers where they are left on unnecessarily.
