Student Council Christmas Report

Student Council Christmas Report 2013

The Student Council began their year with a workshop on the 3rd October. We learned how to carry out the different roles entailed in being a productive student council group. We received layouts for Agenda’s and Minutes, both of which contribute organisation and efficiency to our fortnightly meetings. It was a beneficial day all round.

In November we promoted the Operation Christmas Child Appeal. This involved collecting shoeboxes from our students, which were full of gifts for children. These shoeboxes will be delivered to children in developing countries who look forward to this gift, as it is the only present they will receive this year. Our school will be informed after Christmas of where the shoeboxes were delivered to, which will be exciting and rewarding news to hear.

Seeing as First Years, Second Years and Fifth Years had Christmas exams this December, the Student Council wanted to motivate and encourage students during a stressful time. We worked on creating a display titled “Be Inspired”. Each class contributed a poster, a quote or a picture which they found to be inspirational, and these were displayed in the front hall.

We are looking forward to a new year to carry out creative ideas and contributions to help our peers and teachers in our school.
